HIGH-QUALITY SERVICES
In July 2017 Alltrad completed the elaborate updating procedure of its quality system according to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 international standard and at the same time upgraded its certification from UNI EN ISO 15038 to UNI EN ISO 17100, which further improves some specific issues concerning translation services quality. The joint implementation of both standards is the result of continuous innovation and a commitment to ensuring high quality standards, credibility and transparency, with the main goal of satisfying customers’ needs.
UNI EN ISO 9001 is the reference standard for the management of workflows and performance of services, definition of the quality policy, corrective actions and improvements, and for the selection of human resources. Alltrad was first accredited in 2002 by DNV GL and undergoes maintenance audits once a year.
UNI EN ISO 17100 is a European standard establishing the minimum requirements for the provision of translation services, with a specific focus on service specifications, quality assurance and traceability.
What is the added value of implementing these standards?
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE
of in-house and external translators, proofreaders and interpreters, who undergo a careful selection process and must meet specific professional requirements based on competences and experience.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
achieved through the implementation of standard procedures whereby a person with the appropriate competences translates the documents and then checks the translation. A person other than the translator then revises the translation.
UNI EN 17100 defines the revision as “bilingual examination of target language content against source language content for its suitability for the agreed purpose”.
CONTROL OF THE OVERALL PROCESS
by appointing a a project manager in order to ensure compliance with procedures and with the terms agreed upon with the customer.
CONTINUOUS UPDATING
of hardware and software, the in-house library of technical dictionaries and sector-specific glossaries, and the IT tools available, with special emphasis on the use of computer-assisted translation programs, the organisation of training courses and ongoing professional development in the use of such programs and access to terminology databases.
INFORMATION SYSTEM SECURITY
a goal achieved thanks to IT investments aiming at creating an efficient company computerized system while ensuring a suitable data protection against cyber-attacks. Automatic daily backup procedures and regularly updated antivirus. Safe access and communication protocols.

is guaranteed by agreements that all employees and co-workers are required to sign containing rules of professional conduct and non-disclosure clauses as well a waiver of intellectual property rights.
